I use Sportstracklive on my Google Android phone to log my rides which i then upload to the site, and have just discovered that i can download a Google Earth KMZ file.

Anyone know what i can do with this? I am guessing it's just to overlay the route onto Google Earth, but can i do anything else with it, like upload it to my phone and then follow the route?

If not dose anyone know of any Android apps that would allow me to do this?

a KMZ is a zipped KML.  You canconvert it @ gpsvisualizer.com to gpx and others.
Don't know about following the route live, as I've seen others struggle with this before.

GPX can be converted to a route for Garmin.

Probably yes as I don't have time to really learn stuff, or the capacity to remember it if I do... or maybe it's just sh*t.

A gpx file is simply a record of your journey. You can convert it to any other gps format, share it, upload it to various sites, or use it to create a route you can follow it in future.

What you need to decide is what do you want to do with it?

I havent found anything to do that job but on the basis my phone has a battery life of 3 hours with the gps and sportpal turned on i decided to not even bother. I suspect yours would be the same. If you really want such functionality you need satmap etc.
