Just wondered what peoples first "proper" bikes were. Mine was a 1995 Kona Lava Dome back when I was 12. Exactly the same as the one below, only it was a 14" frame....

Kona? Marin? Pah. American rubbish. Muddy Fox Courier Comp 1990 for me. 500LX groupset upgraded to Deore DX with SPDs in 1991 roughly. It was dayglo green with multi coloured MFX paws all over it.

First "proper" mtb - Muddy Fox AluLight.
Superb frame with huge amounts of cheap tat bolted to it.
Still got it too, well the frame, the rest wore out

First decent bike would have to be my Ammaco styled, but I'm not sure BMX's count.
Mind you MTB's hadn't got here then

And, embarrassingly, by looking at that pic, I've just learnt what Shimano STI stood for.....

Grifter,
Chopper,
Burner,
....(little break)....
LBS, non-branded P.O.S.....1995  no-pic.. then
Marin B17 1999

(Picture taken c.2007 )
mmmmm.....Marin....
