Been tweaking my orange the last few days and I seem to be running a lot of spacers in order to get the bars high enough, currently 160mm forks, 20mm spacers and high rise easton DH bars. Wonder at what point steerer tube flex becomes an issue, I think most bikes (except orange) come with 15-20mm of spacers and assume therefore 20mm isnt excessive.

my hope spacer set had 40mm's worth in it iirc. not that I use that amount.

can't see it being a problem anyway.

yea mine are hope but maybe you are not supposed to use all the spacers in a set. Have considered removing some spacers 5-10mm but i prefer a high front end and a shortish reach (45mm stem). Just wondered how many others run and if anyone notices any flex

45mm 8 deg, running easton carbon DH bars 40mm rise. I feel much more centred with the bars higher. How high do you run yours, they are pretty low i think. mine bars are 106.5cm from the floor to the middle of the bar end.

Lol mate thats serious measuring that but them im not surprised you have! Ive got a 50mm 0deg with 25mm rise bars, i must have 15mm of spacers i guess. Cant really compare as the head tube length could be different.

My saddle is level with my bars, possibly slightly lower, i dont think i would want them any higher it would make it more difficult to weight the front wheel.

Got 20mm of spacers but above 50mm stem on main bike with DH riser bars - dropped bars to lower position last year as need to get lower for more speed and front wheel control

I'm also swapping the bit to the lower one on the boxxers this week for lower bars following advice from the dh guys I know

Takes a while to get used to but helps on cornering
