Ive just read about Thetford Forest in an old trailmaster thing i got with mbuk last year. Has anybody ridden there?
It sounds right up my street...fairly flat with tight twisty/flowing singletrack.

They do a lot of xc races as well, flat but supposed to be quite good although quite a trek, probably no closer than surrey, south downs etc

I like the sound of the waymarked trail. Flattish but enjoyable singletrack. Ill sling up a post if im going.

Thetford Forest offers some really enjoyable riding.  D2D is held there every year as are a number of other races organised by Thetford MTB, always good events & well organised.

The forest holds up well in light rain, but when it's wet - jeez!  It's like riding through grinding paste as a layer of liquid sand floats on the peat below.
Oh! & don't assume flat means easy   No ups means no downs & that means no rest
Combine that with the sandy soil & it can make Thetford a real test of endurance.

Most of the riding can be found off the B1107 between Brandon & Thetford.  Thetford forest exists right on the border of Suffolk & Norfolk so you never know quite where you are!!!

There are some abosolutely superb sections of twisty single track that feel like they are 80cm between the trees - it's like the speeder chase in Return of the Jedi.

Thoroughly reccomended (especially in the dry)

You have to fall off to know where the edge is!

I woldn't mind a go at this, i rode Thetford last year in the wet, and it's hard work. the best bit was sidewinder on the black route. You never know i might even see my Cove as it was nicked in that area.
