I need to type up an official letter - and I need my address on the right, and the recipients address on the left - as if they are in 2 columns adjacent to each other.
Bugging the hell out of me......
Ive tried a 2 Column layout, but the whole page goes to 2 columns....
Any tips?

I assume you mean you tried using two columns, as in a newspaper layout? If you add a table at the top you can add two columns to that. Right justify the right side and left justify the left side.

for an official letter you should have your address on the top right side, followed by the date and your recipient's address a line below that on the left side. You need not put them directly opposite one another but you can do so if you want by tabbing across and aligning it with spaces.
I just inserted a 2 column table as Winnie suggested - worked straight away - so Im happy now.
I get that this is not the "official" way of a proper letter, but the letter(s) are going through a machine which folds and stuffs the envelopes - so the recipients address must be high up and inline with the envelope window., so needs to up the top of the tri-fold.
Its previously been set up with my database system for my business, but I need Word this time around and not been setup before.
Thanks all.

Non geek to the rescue... Just put in a section break (continuious), split the top bit into 2 columns the bottom bit to one/normal.
