Makes my tumble yesterday look pathetic. Like the way people in the crowd all have their cameras/phones recording. Can't beat a bit of carnage (unless your in it of course)
Always amazes me that they can just climb straight out of crashes like that. Incredible core strength of the cars. Was it Ford that put McRae's rally Australia crash wreckage in the factory as a reminder to the staff of how important their work was.
This was quite a minor crash though in reality impact wise, it barely touched the roof and was bouncing off bonnet and boot. Latvalas one last year in Portugalr could have been very serious as the first impact was on a rock and directly on the roof and its always the first big impact which does the most damage and weakens the structure.
This was his, hits the barrier on the roof then just rolls and rolls, imagine being in that not knowing when it was going to stop..

Yes, they are well built and the cages can take what looks like awful punishment without breaking... some have snapped a tube here and there on point impacts but at least the people are ok.

That photo made me laugh, could their jeans get any newer? And the slogan 'Asphalt Regime' makes them sound like a slimming program based on roadworking. Having googled the aforementioned regime, i have discovered that they are actually a 'street Team' for a market research company (like the students that pounce on you on Canterbury High Street) designed to find out what's down with the kids.
