Hi Kris I missed the last one you did as working & am on a late for this one too.  What time are you thinking of kicking off as could drop in for an hour or two before I start?

Are you meant to mostly lay down & do nothing, or get up n do some gentle walking?

DVD marathon is a definite must, whatever your preferred flavour, but if you can go out n about, maybe check out some local trails you've missed on the bike?

I got lots of post from recycled fencing that has more than enough life for the track and managed to get some machined round post to lay on the lower side of the trail we cut last time.  Got loads of post mix and water waiting to go.

Any one else who can spare an hour  ?

Sailor I already got new flat Pedals, they are not the Nukeproof ones but will do for a while.

A Bondathon huh Alan Partridge Style eh?

I like your way of thinking.

I've had my Reba on for around a month now, the SL rather than the team so I've got floodgate damping instead of black-box, but since I've found settings I like for the +ve/-ve air chambers and rebound I'm starting to fiddle with the floodgate and using the lockout more. I'm finding it a bit of a godsend on smoother grassy or soft earthy climbs where there's no need for a lot of travel and I'm getting out of the saddle now and again to keep the speed up without too much bob.

As for upgradeitis, as well as the Reba I'm on a set of Stan's rims on Hope pro-II hubs but I've noticed the same as you with my 110mm stem so I'm looking at 90mm versions at the moment. Plus my bars are only 620mm wide so I feel something more like 680 coming soon

620! They shouldn't be allowed to sell bikes with bars that narrow. Try some 710's, I think that is the perfect width for XC/trail riding, and if too wide you can cut them down a bit at a time till you find the perfect width.

Does it click at the same point in each rotation ?

Could be needing some grease on pedals/chainring bolts

most likely to be a little cable stretch allowing the front mech to rub the chain when under power. you can adjust it by making a couple of turns anticlockwise to the barrel adjuster on the gear changer mechanism on the handlebars (left side) (hope i'm not teaching my granny to suck eggs.) good luck

Oh, and sometimes it doesn't rub when upside down as the chainring can flex slightly when it has your weight on it but not when pedalling gently

OMG - dont know about jon/nick/andy but I am dying with the midgy bites here, 2 piriton & a heap of cream & i still want to sand the top layer of skin of my legs.

Me too, the are driving me insane and have got worse since last night! Sudocrem dosn't do anything and I'm about to rip the house apart looking for a tub of tiger balm... I'm not gonna get any sleep tonight.

Noise may not be a problem for you ... But when you get a cheap one and i can hear it from my back garden all the way down here i wont be impressed

On a serious note Tacx make some good TT's,  What you really need now you are making VIP appearances is a Tacx Imagic with the steering rack and virtual reality software ... You can ride on the moon then !

So, I went for a Canon 1000D in the end.

I owned a cheapo SLR about 20 years ( ) ago and (as there was no internet then ( )) I never really learnt how to get the most out of it.

I can only say I LOVE MY D-SLR already

Stay tuned for some ridiculously over-ponced pics of my bike soon
