I have started having a clicking sound coming from around the front gears. The gear cables aren't catching and the sound is only present when pedalling not coasting or even with the bike upsie down and pedalling. It is intermittent but probably one click a rotation at its worst. I have checked the rear derailleur isn't catching and it doesn't look like it. The rear wheel does seem to have a small wobble when you spin it but it makes no sound when spun. The bike is only a month old. The other thing to bear in mind is i went out last Sunday and got coated in mud round Blean. Bike wasn't making the noise then so maybe it is grit that is caught somewhere, although it has been hosed down.
Thanks

James

XT REAR Shifters

On my only Bbh night ride the rear gears on my bike seemed to have a mind of there own changing when every that wanted. I have fitted a new XT rear cassette and chain as the cassette was worn but it is still the same . The hanger is set up correctly for the derailleur. I have an XT rear derailleur and xt shifter. Do the shifters wear out as it does not seem to move the derailleur much on the first click and seems to take 2 clicks before the derailler move one gear and then when you go the other way it takes 2 clicks from the lever to move back a gear. Keith.

Fork post mounts - retapping and helicoils

As per title really. Does anybody have any experience sorting knackered threads on fork post-mounts?

Noticed when I came to unscrew the lower caliper bolt yesterday that it wasn't actually torqued up, when the bolt came out it was pretty obviously because the thread from the post mount was stuck to the bolt rather than the fork

I didn't fit the fork myself so didn't knacker the thread installing the calipers to begin with before anybody starts recommending a torque wrench

Just trying to decide if it's worth trying to tap a proper thread back onto the lowers or if getting a helicoil in there would be a better idea. Currently leaning towards the helicoil to give a harder thread
