Headtorch
#1
Now that my not very old, but trusty, now crappo/broken headtorch has given up the ghost.. I need a new one...

I was thinking about another Silva L3, but after how the last one died.. I'm thinking my money could be better spent..

Any suggestions?

Budget is realistically about £30, but it's gotta be very good for that money! Functions not arsed about, just want it bright!
My riding is more up and down than the damn area I live in! And the tart's knickers who lives next door - Combined!  :o

It's gotta be a fenix l2d. Slightly over your budget but too good not to have.

If your after a simple head torch for general lighting you want a petzl tika, I have both.

Ades is a fenix, but I think his is a p3(?) they use special batteries unlike my l2d which is practically the same but uses normal aa batteries

I'll be taking my Tikka to Afan next week for general camping things.

I prefer the fenix for riding though as a more direct beam.

The Tikka is more of a flood (bright flood though!)

yeah, sorry, tikka is not ideal for riding but good for general stuff, camping, working on car, dogging...

But if youve been using that other one Jon, I would bet 10p that the tikka is brighter(?)

For riding though, its Fenix all the - coupled with a Twofish Lockblock for helmet mounting.

You are topping £40 there, but trust me, its worth it.

(I have 2!)

Fanstastic idea  - exaclty what Ive advised my mate to do for the enduro... AA batteries are cheap and easily replaceable.

You might wanna go 1 on bars, 2 on helmet - but 3 is great, 4 is better!  Tongue
