Hi, Apart from Cycles UK can any suggest any shops in kent selling Specialized bikes?

Also any shops stocking Giant bikes.

So I can go and try a Pitch Comp and a Trance x5

Cheers,

My lbs is a giant specialist in sheerness. Doesn't stock the top bikes but orders them in for demos etc. Very helpful in there, although 95% on anything giant specific needs orderng in, something you could do yourself online.

Details are on the dealer list.

I wouldn't recommend Geoff Willes, its gone seriously downhill since Geoff has left. I've been in there twice recently & on both times been told that they didnt have time to find a price out for me. Before that I wanted braided hoses for Avid brakes & was told I'd have to buy Hope ones & modify them to suit. He would fit them himself & estimated it being about 2hrs work to bleed them. Last time I went in I was looking for a bike for a friend.. Saw a Carbon Cube FS in the window but he couldnt be bothered to give me a price as it was a special order & he'd need to look it up... £3500 worth of bike bike & he couldnt be arsed, how shocking is that.
My friends son went in there within the last two weeks looking to buy a Specialised FS with a £1200 budget, the only one he had was a 2008 but they insisted that it was a 2009 to the point of almost saying, your only 17 what would you know...obviously a lot more than the guy serving..

You wont get any sort of deal from GW's either...

I would rate them at
2/10 for service
1/10 for helpfulness
10/10 for trying to screw some money out of you whether its a suitable bike or not

Sorry Geoff, always liked you & your shop but your not even on my visit list now

Mine does quite a bit, asks why Ive got new bits on it than he remembers from last time.  I dont mind paying a "little" extra - but shops really do need to wake up that many people are shopping online for kit these days.

Is it the death of the high-st? - quite possibly, but you need to move with the times, shop keepers shouldnt blame the customer for shopping online is items are 25% or more cheaper.

The only one in Hastings is tiny and ive only been there for odd "emergency things" like gear cables etc and to have the headset pressed into the Inbred as my normal mallet and a bit wood solution failed.

I would have got the Zesty from a local shop if there had been one but it came from Bournemouth in the end. Theres a nice small shop in Eastbourne that ive been to which stocks some nice spec Treks, Gary Fisher and Commenceals, always friendly in there, stroked one of the session dh treks last time there, just under 4k or something!

My mate is semi sponsored by them and is rewiring the place so i shouldn't say anything but....  they are bordering on outright unfriendly and surly....   i shall never go there again....   might be ok if you're a roadie....

Likewise Geoff was great... and a hell of a cyclist!!

It just doesnt make sense, any business, small or large should go out of their way to at lease please the customer and be friendly even if they cant compete on price, especially in this current climate!
