Lovely day for a ride round Bedgebury...

Didn't quite end the way I intended though with a 1½mile walk back to the car. Sad

I think it's safe to say it's FUBAR'd

  DT Swiss Centrelock adaptors
Posted by: paul_f - 01-18-2017, 06:22 PM - Forum: Pitstop - Replies (2)

My new bike came with DT swiss hubs, centrelock to 6 bolt adaptors and Avid rotors.

Was hoping to fit 180mm Hope floating rotors with my hope brakes, but unfortunately they are too thick to be able to clamp it down. The 160mm ones have a narrower spider so would work.

Posting for information as there wasn't a lot on the internet about them
I'll either stay with the Avid ones or get some Shimano centrelock ones

With the reinstating of all the old posts comes the reinstating of all our old PM's as well. It seems my inbox is now full & I cant seem to delete them. I've highlighted them individually & also highlighted them in bulk but either way I get the elete notification but they still seem to be there... Any clues Paul

  Brake fluid contamination
Posted by: ched - 01-15-2017, 04:02 PM - Forum: Pitstop - Replies (3)

Hi Everyone,
After my ride today I noticed my brakes felt spongy. I came back in and tried to burp the fluid to get rid of any air in the fluid. A few air bubbles came out which was really surprising, then the colour of the fluid changed.

I have cleaned and checked the hose, there isn't any damage to it. Only thing I'm a bit suspicious about is where the hose connects to the caliper. This week I'm going to bleed the brakes fully and see if it solves it.

Has anyone had this happen, because it seems strange that the fluid had become contaminated with no damage to the hose. Is it worth flushing all the oil with new oil or just replace the lever and caliper. Which was my plan in the future.

  How to drill a frame?
Posted by: Skid - 01-10-2017, 10:38 PM - Forum: Pitstop - Replies (25)

I'm after some advice please, I'm intending to drill a hole in the seat tube of a steel hardtail cotic BFE to enable me to fit a stealth dropper. There's a fair bit to pick through on the net but would be great full of any advice you guys could give me please. Here's a pic of the latest version of my frame that comes with it pre drilled.

  Bedgebury Sunday 15th Jan
Posted by: Skid - 01-09-2017, 11:03 PM - Forum: Rides - Replies (11)

Thought I'd get this up earlier this week, wondered if anyone would like to come join us for a spin around bedgebury. Meet at the main car park outside the bike shop ready to ride 10am. Planning on doing a couple of loops at least. But if people wanted to do more or less no one will be a offended if they split off and go their own way at some point.
