  How to drill a frame?
Posted by: Skid - 01-10-2017, 10:38 PM - Forum: Pitstop - Replies (25)

I'm after some advice please, I'm intending to drill a hole in the seat tube of a steel hardtail cotic BFE to enable me to fit a stealth dropper. There's a fair bit to pick through on the net but would be great full of any advice you guys could give me please. Here's a pic of the latest version of my frame that comes with it pre drilled.

  Bedgebury Sunday 15th Jan
Posted by: Skid - 01-09-2017, 11:03 PM - Forum: Rides - Replies (11)

Thought I'd get this up earlier this week, wondered if anyone would like to come join us for a spin around bedgebury. Meet at the main car park outside the bike shop ready to ride 10am. Planning on doing a couple of loops at least. But if people wanted to do more or less no one will be a offended if they split off and go their own way at some point.

Photo FS: Quality Kids Bikes

Hi Y'all =))

With little ladies growing faster than I can cope with I now have a small collection of little bikes I don't need.  What I could do with is the space they currently take up.
Should have done this before Christmas I think, but hey ho.

First up is Miss Tinc #2's 20" Wheel Kona Makena - a really lovely looking bike.
resim

I will admit that it needs a clean, but other than that it's been really well looked after & has no issues, it needs nothing.
Also in great cosmetic condition for a kids bike with just a couple of paintwork blemishes - 1 chip painted in with Kona paint & a few scratches on the head tube (these may polish out)

It's 1x6 with twist grip shifting & slowed by v brakes.
This has been a great bike for Miss Tinc #1 & will be sorry to see this one go, but it needs a new home.
I'd like to see £75 collected from North Kent or I'm happy to post at cost.  May be able to agree delivery.

More piccies here, but I'm happy to provide specific photos on request.

Next up is Miss Tinc #1's Merida Dakar 620.
Another lovely bike that has to go.
resim

Again 20" wheels & in great condition mechanically & cosmetically this little machine is 1x7 on twist grips with V brakes both ends.
I'd like to see £75 collected from North Kent or I'm happy to post at cost.  May be able to agree delivery.
More piccies here, but again I'm happy to provide specific photos on request.

I also have a Specialized HotRock 20", but I need to look at that before I post it..... won't be long though, if a Spesh is you thing.

I'll check the forum regularly or you can pm me of course.

Cheers!
Tinc

  New bike time
Posted by: paul_f - 12-17-2016, 10:11 PM - Forum: General - Replies (14)

My shock went yesterday, needs a new air can and a full service and it isn't really worth it.
It is now 8 years old and is a bit of a triggers broom (only original part is the chainstay) so in the new year I will be choosing a new bike

resim

This happened before on the last shock, I replaced the air can and it went again in 2 rides so i put a bargain new shock from bike discount on. Lasted 2 years ( though I have ridden the hardtail more) - I think it maybe the frame flexing causing it to side load the seal

Will break the bike down and upgrade my wife's bike

  Bedgebury Christmas Caliorie Crusher.

A21 Layby outside Bedgebury:
December 27th at 11am

I'm gonna be hosting a little group ride for a small Facebook group that I've been running for a couple-a-years.

It'll be a nice n steady paced sociable lap of the Red Route to get outta the house (away from the in-laws) and get rid of a few Chrimbo Calories. Maybe replace a few calories after with a fireside pint in the pub afterwards.

If you fancy coming along I'll be in the layby with my son setting up our bikes by a Silver Chrysler Voyager.

Thumbs Up Surrey Hills Brilliant 20miler
Posted by: jonboy1066 - 12-08-2016, 11:20 PM - Forum: GPS Info & Routes - No Replies

Thanks to several rides this year with Smoke and Oakum around the Surrey Hills, I'm starting to get to grips with where I'm going, so thought I'd share this route that I did today, linking up the best bits that Smoke has shown me in the past and making a great route.

Todays ride was the best I've had up there, not too hot or cold, damp enough to keep the sand and dust down and give loadsa grip and yet not flick up any dirt. 20 awesome miles with 800m of climbing and of course a stop at Peaslake ½way for coffee

Have a look at a "Relive" of it here:

And feel free to download the route too from here:
