Desktop Computer Advice

Right i have about £500 pounds ish (could push to £600) to spend on a new desktop tower (base unit only) anyone know where i can get a very good one for that kind of money? also should i wait a month or so until windows 7 comes out?

any advice oh computer geeks............

Im no computer nerd but i reckon you will have change out of £500 if you are only needing a base unit.

Personnaly, if I had £500 burning a hole....  I'd hang on til Aldi do one of their PC deals.  Ã‚£500-600 will bag you the deal of the century from them.  I honestly think their PC & laptop deals are unbeatable.  I reckon it'd be impossible to self-build for the price they knock'em out.

Maybe buy direct from Medion (the peeps that supply Aldi)  Check this beasty out for £479 Clickme!!!

Don't think this has wi-fi but PC-World have this for £17ish...  It's the widget I've been connected with, on XP/Vista/Linux, for the last 5 years or so.

What are you going to use it for ?

the one ade linked to is very good but if your not going to be using it to play games at high res(IIRC you've got a PS3 ?) then its probally not worth blowing a huge chunk of money on something that you wont use to its full extent !

I bought an excellent quad core rig for my aunty from ebuyer for about £390ish. It flies!!!

I'm on my iPhone at the mo so will send link when I can,  but check out ebuyer.com for their deals.

mine is about 8 years old and is slowly dying, need it for photo editing video editing and web surfing. But need it to last another 8 years.........
