What Road Bike for less than £300?
#1
As some of you will know, Im looking for a winter road hack, those in the know have already offered some excellent advice thank-you, but putting out to the wider audience in this new section.

In essence:

Second hand (for better chance of better spec)

Looking for a decent(ish) spec road bike suitable for my height : 5'10" with 31" inside leg.

The Giant OCT/TCR's look appealing as Im a bit of a Giant fanboy.

Suggestions/ welcome.

Sorry, but all mods agree that this section is OK.

And from various discussions with other members, its a welcome addition.

Perhaps we should have an "outing" thread as you will be shocked at the amount of road bike users here.

lol I hadnt even noticed there was a new section for it. All commuting should be done on street bikes so you can play on steps, walls etc on the way.

From hearing on the grapevine, Im getting more like £300 collectivly through family, so Im on the hunt.

Yes, sizing has been the major discussion between those Ive spoken to - all frames seem different with reach etc.

I will need to try some I reckon, but not easy when looking for an ebay deal!

Im very lucky - birthdays are always a fairly big thing, and because Im 30, seems like Im getting anything I like! (within reason - Girls Aloud havent knocked on my door yet)

If Im to add up the "current" spend on me so far, Im looking at about £300 spent on my already, without the supposed cash!  Im at the Emirates on Saturdat, thats £64 a ticket!

Guess I'll see on Saturday.
