First proper bike
Just wondered what peoples first "proper" bikes were. Mine was a 1995 Kona Lava Dome back when I was 12. Exactly the same as the one below, only it was a 14" frame....

1994 Marin Nail Trail

Kona? Marin? Pah. American rubbish. Muddy Fox Courier Comp 1990 for me. 500LX groupset upgraded to Deore DX with SPDs in 1991 roughly. It was dayglo green with multi coloured MFX paws all over it.

Like this? I couldn't find a 94 Nail Trail.
It was 20 years ago and I can't remember the name of it, it had a u brake under the chainstay Smile

And over 20 more since!

Oh and before that an Orbit profile 531 road bike
First "proper" mtb - Muddy Fox AluLight.
Superb frame with huge amounts of cheap tat bolted to it.
Still got it too, well the frame, the rest wore out  ;D

First decent bike would have to be my Ammaco styled, but I'm not sure BMX's count.
Mind you MTB's hadn't got here then  :o

Yup. One of them, Great bike. Even better with the DX groupset.

My first 'proper' mtb was a cannondale 'alpine series' - think it was a 1988/9 I still have it too!

Just for Maestro:

Cannondale 'Alpine Series'
