New Forest Morning Ride
#1
Just a handful of rather dull pics from our morning ride in the New Forest.

ALL the trails are this sandy/gritty path - so not challenging at all and it was EFFING freezing.

Got caught up in a Cycloteering race which followed these trails - something I wouldnt mind giving a go actually.

Please feel free to observe:

No Helmet
Gay SPD Pedal Platforms
A Crudcatcher
My stupid "Its cold" face
MrsBoys rubbish t-shirt.

Please appreciate:

My new garmin 705 with specialist trail map loaded!  Wink
The fact Im out riding my Trance for the first time in AGES.
Extreme Bike Security : Inside a lodge + Locks + Ultimate Deterant : Dancing on Ice on the TV!

No Helmet, - even worse, an IQ reducing cap  :o
Gay SPD Pedal Platforms - Gay SPD sounds like something you need to visit a clinic for  :X
A Crudcatcher - nothing wrong with that (he says having just put one on the Stumpy) :B
My stupid "Its cold" face - it looks like your normal face ? Undecided
MrsBoys rubbish t-shirt. - Boo..Glory hunter, where were you when you were crap, and other assorted Chelsea insults  Tongue

IMHO the more southern side of the Forest is so much prettier than around the SandyBalls side. Unfortunately the pictures don't do the Forest much justice this time of the year. Sad

the official new forest
leaflet is titled "the new forest, is neither new or a forest"

quite agree though it was much more green around beaulieu.

there's nothing there though, which is the main attraction.

it's still very pretty.

We go to the New Forest quite frequently, lovely place  8)

Actually stumbled across some decent riding too across the moors.
Ok, it's a bit flat but it's desolate and you can ride for miles without seeing another soul.

Cheers,

We always go down towards the Ringwood side. 5 minutes from a Forest walk & 15 minutes from Crabbing at Muddyford.

Im not wet, didnt rain at all - we was at the top of a very windy/cold ridge - posing for photos wasnt high on my agenda!  Tongue

This little DH trail was 30secs from our lodge  -although no bikes are/where allowed in this area - there was LOTS of little gems in there for sessioning (not by me obviously!) and also a couple of graves!  :o
