SketchyMTB.co.uk IS NOT GOING to be switched off!
#11
That's a real shame. I've not been around here for long but I can totally understand the reasons.

Will remain on the Facebook thing and hopefully be able to take more of an active part soon.

Thanks for all the efforts that I know go into keeping a forum alive for as long as it has been.

Totally agree with the sentiment on this. The site has definitely dropped off since you updated it. I used to enjoy coming on here as there was some great banter and arguments and it was a great source of information. A lot of the colourful characters/regular contributers and their opinions seem to have dissapeared and it all seems a bit flat now.

I would give it a go, just not sure what is involved really..

I'd be happy to run it. It would be a shame to loose it

I admin another forum using the same software (including upgrades/mods etc)

Thanks for all your efforts. I've met lots of people via this forum whom I never would have met otherwise. It's sad to see it go, but the friendships will endure.

Blimey, goes to show how we take these things for granted and don't realise the effort that someone needs to put in. On the old site there used to be a way to donate, after the change I said everyone should chuck some cash in but it never came about.

That said would be great if the show went on

Sad news, but I guess I am typical of the problem. For a couple of reasons I am not riding as much and as such don't seem to be dropping by the forum very often. When I do drop in few of the people I know are active so I come back even less.

I have some wonderful memories though of what I consider the golden days of Sketchy. Without Sketchy I would never had met some great people and nor would I have ever raced. I probably wouldn't have broken endless bones either  I even carried my Sketchy shirt around the world

Thanks for all of your fantastic efforts over the years Ade. You are a true mountain biking hero.

Very sad to hear this Ade, but totally understand. I'm one of the many others who just doesn't ride as much or visit the forum regularly any more (felt I practically lived here for a while Smile)
It's been a fantastic meeting place, brilliant bunch of guys n gals, some awesome fun rides and some great skills between them. I'm on the FB group and will get it to notify me of posts n shizzle.

Thank you Ade and all the others who put in great efforts along the way to make this place as amazeballs as it's been.
The website may be dead, but the spirit, friendships, memories and Facebook Group live on Smile

Long Live Sketchy MTB
