Have you seen they've changed the venue for round 3?

Details here;

Yes saw venue has changed. Won't make any difference to me, never entered any of these races before. I'm still more concerned about the weather turning nasty.
Dammit, due to the weather round 3 has now been postponed until 17/1.

Just seen it on their fb page.

Are you still going?

I'm looking forward to it now. Weather looks like it's going to be quite good, a bit foggy to start, and cold, but most importantly no rain. Atleast that's according to the current weather report on the BBC website.
Yep, still on for it Smile

Fingers crossed on the weather for the next few days so it gets a chance to dry out a bit.

Well that was somewhat more disorganised than I'd have liked but strangley fun all then same.

I overslept, we left late, missed the junction and started the race about 15 mins after everyone else :?

On the first lap I had "clipped in" moment and twisted my right hip which got worse as I went uphill which the course did. A lot.

The course itself was very good, nice and twisty with a great section through some tree roots which would be bags if fun if it was drier.

It started to rain/snow and got very cold and I had another off in a down hill galley through some baby conifers, which looked like something from narnia. Someone broke suddenly in from of me and I went down on my right leg again so after finishing my second lap I bailed.

I'll probably come in last for this one but thats ok; I've really enjoyed all the races and it's got me smiling and back out on the bike again :lol:

How did you get on?

Yeah that was tough. Didn't have any offs thankfully, just a few hurried unclippings and fumbles especially toward the end. Course was more technical than expected which was good, except in the first lap where my confidence meant I started near the back and consequentally behind all the no-skills riders. Had to stop to take my coat off in first lap before I melted despite the snow. Did 3 laps before stopping around 2hours to eat banana and half an apple. Started feeling ill towards 3 hours, and then my chain broke but hardly unexpected given it should have been changed months ago, removed the bust link, relinked and continued. Was doing a lot more pushing up those short/sharp climbs on the last lap. Got in with a couple of minutes to spare.

Came in 16th out of 26 in four hour male vet category, 5 laps, ~21 miles. Really enjoyed the fast downs of the course, would be awesome in summer. Was fairly happy with tyres, 26x2.35 High Roller 2 up front, and Kenda Nevegal at back (except where it slipped a lot on the climbs).
