+1, as long as its not going to fall apart and its safe to ride (ie not a £80 apollo full susser) then it doesnt matter as long as you are having fun Smile

Good choice, there's a few Furys that have graced Sketchy over the years, but I'll bet mine was the oldest.

Mine from new around '97ish. Still in the shed and used as a daily commuter. Wicked bikes, good choice.
Oh, and that one's been round Afan too.

Now in pieces and probably still covered in the same mud? Wink

The Fury isn't a Halfrawds special, the specials are the £99 full sunsets that bounce so much they are guaranteed to make you hurl and would explode into a hundred pieces at the first sight of proper off road. Carrera's are good bikes, i started off on a Kraken, in fact I still have the frame in the loft.

yep i think its a good bike to start out on plus the reviews were all good and it was the best bike in its class, only thing is the frame is a little big for me 18inche, i am 5.6 and from what i have read i should be on a 16inch frame?? although i have it set up right now as before my knees were killing me but now it seems fine..

Excellent choice. Halfords offer some of the best value for money bikes.
