Hi Si, will be good to see you back out on the trails again ;D
The main trails at kings are all still the same, but sadly the DH ones are all gone.

I rode there tonight, first ride in 2 years, painful !!!. Rode what I think was the bambi trail tonight.

Shame about the DH stuff, is Ash M not building anymore ? Not that I would be capable of riding anything even slightly narly though for a while Sad

Have heard Ash M is still spinning around on bikes, but I never seem to bump into him.
Porc is in really good condition now, with a chap call Mick running the races and organising the upkeep and building of the tracks.

Hi i'm Mike, just getting back into riding after a very long lay off! Gave up in about '97. Looking to ride the trails in the Canterbury area, so Blean, Clowes etc Not quite sure where i'm going, but will be fun to explore and find the best places. Any advice greatly received. I'm quite a basic rider so not after anything too challenging for the moment, especially after my long break!

Hi, just joined the site so thought I'd say hello.

Live in Dartford and don't get out on the bike anywhere near enough!
Looking for local stuff to ride on weekends when I'm not away or in the evenings if I get home from work in time!

Any suggestions / GPX files of stuff local to me that's interesting will be gratefully received!

Cheers,

Si

Welcome to Sketchy!

Not many of us around the Dartford area but plenty of riding opportunities. Dartford Heath isnt bad, and Joydens Wood is alright for a quick night spin. Further afield there is Oldbury over near Borough Green, Mereworth if you can get a guide and Bedgebury (although its probably a mud fest at the moment)

Cheers.
I know the heath and have had a couple of blasts round Joydens Wood.
Will take a look at Oldbury.  Went to Mereworth in the summer but didn't really find any of the good stuff I don't think. Will keep an eye out for any rides being planned that way.

Was at Bedgebury weekend before last and it was ok on the mud front - I suspect it will be getting worse pretty quickly!

Welcome!

Oldbury is confusing so a guide would be recommended. Ditto Mereworth as you've discovered. Though a lot of Mereworths best stuff was trashed due to tree felling in the post year. But it is good for a fast blast and has some well hidden nasty short climbs.

I know both and will try and (get fit) and post a ride soon.

Blue Bell Hill (BBH) is another good fairly local spot for you. Again a guide is probably needed.

Cheers, I'll keep an eye out for any rides posted up for those areas then.
