Welcome to the temple of fitness
Don't sweat it Steve, another 6 weeks and you will see a big improvement, as you have already been riding loads over the last few weeks you're already half way there. There's loads of different fitness levels on sketchy, most important  are the first few weeks where you ache constantly and lag behind thinking you're gonna die, suddenly you see a big change and, even if nothing else happens, you don't die.

Oh, and nice idea about the 'tax disc' thingy, give it a few rides and you'll have got a few numbers of regular riders so it won't be an issue.
Keep it foolish...
