Tinc, I had a try of the route you kindly waypointed for me. The problem on the 705 is that the direction maps popped up 'north up' whereas I was navigating 'track up'. Got a bit confusing. Would prob have been fine on road with more distance between turns. There might be a way to change the north up display though, will see what I can find
That should be a setting on the 705.
I don't use the map screen, but the compass screen.
Theory goes that if the unit tells you which way to turn why try to follow the track Undecided

The compass screen simply provides a heading to the next waypoint via a compass needle.  Providing the needle is always pointing roughly in front of you you're going the right way.

Did the waypoints pop up with the "bing bong" prior to each turn?
