Fires in Blean and Thornden
#1
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-13403910

Wondered how long it would take for this to happen. The amount of people I've seen just flicking fag ends off into the undergrowth is ridiculous, especially when it's been this dry  >Sad

But it's alright as they're walkers so can do no wrong, bikers on the other hand must be lectured at about how they shouldn't be here  >Sad

Hopefully it's all under control now and some of the idiots might learn a lesson

Anyone know exactly where these fires were?  Did nearly 30 miles around Church Woods, Clowes and Thornden on Saturday and didn't see any evidence of the Blean fires

There were no fires in Blean,Clowes,Thornden on Sat afternoon unless they started after 5-00pm as we rode here and did'nt see or hear anything.Woods are very dry so it only takes one idiot to drop a ciggie......

Didn't see any large burnt areas but it definitely smelt of smouldering wood down in the SW corner of the woods towards Dunkirk. Hopefully we will get a little rain to dampen stuff off but then more decent weather  ;D
