Direct mount front mech
#1
Just to get my thinking straight - a direct mount front mech attaches straight onto the frame (clue is in the name - right)?  Is a front mech with a more standard attachment band e.g. this incompatible with this type of fitting or can the band be removed?

my road bike is direct mount the frame has a small tab which the derailleur bolts directly to. Here's a couple of pics of mtb version A clamp on mech will not fit.

Often referred to as a "braze on" mech.
Oldy worldy reference, but still used.
