Good luck to you all on your personal conquests. My advice is simply to  eat healthy and make sure Cardio work outs are at least 45minutes with good effort.  Cut out alcohol and any other crap. Key ingredient is to learn to enjoy cooking as well. It's too easy to be lazy and grab a bag of crisps etc.

As well as cycling I run between 3 - 15 miles a week dependant my shifts, come and join me. Running is a great way to loose weight and clear the mind.

I also don't like gyms. There are many exercise routines that use you own body weight which will suffice.

Sketchy boot camp?

Well I am glad I am not the  only one who has been a bit anal about weight loss. Not that it has done me any good. Lost a few kg but not exactly been trying hard. Jo and I received a set of the fancy scales last Christmas. The ones that measure weight, BMI, body fat, water etc so I have written down the results every Tuesday evening. A few weeks ago I put them in a spread sheet.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?...c&hl=en_US

Right then analysis

Goals : I never really wanted to lose much, just enough to buy size 34 trousers (currently 36). My weight is currently just under 14st, and to achieve my goal I guess I should be somewhere just under 13st.

Results : As you can see from the graph, with out really trying I have lost a few kg (the rises tend to come after holidays). The weight isn't much different from the start of the year but fat % is lower and I defo feel fitter. What is really interesting to note is the patterns in the graphs. I am sure you have all heard that you should drink more water, well general consensus is that a male should be about 60% water, as you can see I normally hover around the 50-51% mark. The times when the water is higher, the weight is lower, but to be more precise, when the water % is higher the fat % is lower. If you look you can see these graphs perfectly mirror each other.

Conclusion : I don't really eat unhealthily but more exercise is always good but don't think there is anyway I could drink enough to get my body up to 60% water!!

EDIT : Yes I know it is all a bit sad really, but I know for a fact I am not the only one on here with a love of spreadsheets.

I dont understand why I seem to have much larger waist size than people on here who are shorter and heavier than me ie I wear 36's, can only presume I have no muscle and therefore am lighter and/or I have child bearing hips and therefore a fat arse as well

Tuesday weigh in

I am 5'10'' and have a 34'' waist

13st 9lbs

Body fat 25.4%

Target 12st 9lbs but more importantly body fat down, would love to get down to 20% but at my age that is a big ask but would be chuffed just to see it move as it has been pretty static for years.

Look at this way....   you are a chunky but solid performing set of Lyriks, I am a superbly performing set of Devilles and anyone that is a 32 is a weedy flexible set of noodle Foxs         Undecided

I was thinking more along the lines of the rigid forks off of my Muddy Fox Courier Comp circa 1993.  Big Grin
