Tips for Fitting Carbon Bars
#1
I have some lovely new carbon bars. What do I need to be doing when I fit them? Do I need any of this carbon paste stuff? A torque wrench?

no you dont need carbon paste. A torque wrench is always a good idea but not a necessity. Just make sure there are no sharp edges on the stem before you bolt it down and dont over tighten. Depending on which bars you bought they are probably much stronger than the aluminium ones they are replacing, so no need to worry too much about it.

I needed carbon paste on my carbon bars with my renthal stem but you normally dont need it.

Do not over tighten!

I never used to use it but had to get some due to the ally post slipping in my carbon Spark so I now use that on bars as well. No torque wrench, just do them FT-3. Check for rough edges as mentioned above

Cheers chaps. I will take Treacle up on his offer for some extra peace of mind. That said the bars dont come with anything to say what torque to tighten too weirdly.
