Blue Bell Hill
So true about Hermitage Lane. I presume you are talking about the field opposite the Maidstone Hospital. I also noticed the planning inspectorate overturned MBC's decision to refuse the planning application for the housing development a little further down (on the same side as the hospital). You also have the retail units being built at the A20 end of Hermitage Lane.

Incidentally what is the Capstone Green Development?

It's The housing development they're just starting on the old Southern Water site at the bottom of North Danes Way.....I guess Capstone Green sounds better than Luton Rec Green

Looks like they have started work on the development behind Laggings Single Track. The fly tipping is being cleared, all the broken down barbed wire fences have been removed & there's a massive pile of used tyres which has been collected from around the site. There's also an access road being made from the lane. Will be a shame to see it go but better than the mass fly tipping that has been on there over the past few months

I wonder how much of the track will stay? Is there a right of way going through to Westfield Sole rd?

Looks like there is resim

I'm pretty sure most of Laggings single track will stay. From memory the development is where the horse fields are. That land going back 25 years was ear marked for development hence the bank which runs along its perimeter.. Pretty most of the woodland isnt being touched but may be wrong with that thought

An interesting piece from Kent Online.  Not technically part of BBH I know but a wood people often ride as part of a loop which includes BBH.

The results of the planning appeal should be available this week

That'll be interesting but I fear the worst

Hook Wood once upon a time was the most densely populated wood in the South East by door mice. Unfortunately the motor bikes then got in there & pretty much destroyed the single pathways which ran thro the middle & turned them into 6ft wide race tracks around & thro the trees. Now there aren't any door mice in there at all.
Its unfortunate that the foot fall thro Hall woods is also widening the tracks as well. Earlier this year I saw elderly guy walking right thro the middle of the Bluebells... that now has become a walked track devoid of plant life & a little bit more of the natural cover for the woodland life destroyed which wont be recovered. I questioned him once & his reason was he enjoyed it..so next year I guess he'll create another path thro the middle of them. Only when there's nothing left apart from criss cross of paths will he realise what he has done...sadly I dont think he will. Rant over!!

Had a great pootle round BBH with Laggin & Kieran last night. Not as muddy or cold as I expected tbh, especially for late December!
The Whyte performed well once the shine had worn off the new tyres any way, think I'll take the hardtail next time though, soo much gunk around the rear linkage!!
Jay Dubster.
Moved to Radstock (nr Bath) but often in Medway & up for a pootle.
