Friston Forest
"dohboy85" Wrote:Has anyone ridden the forest lately? Thinking of getting down there Sunday.
Any ground condition info would be great.

Trails were just fantastic today. No mud on any of the singletracks (some fireroads I tried on the way back up are still sticky). Only issue today was the fog hanging on the downs - It was sunny everywhere else
Buff! dry line pretty much everywhere, very fast! Wrecking Rhianna using the old red route bombhole is good into doris and bert, did that 3 times, racing ralph on the rear drifting around in places!
Got down there today, was superb riding good grip everywhere I went only slip was on round the rim, rest was all good I'm amazed how dry the bomb holes are. Met some nice fellas who rode a few trails with which was good. May the sunshine & riding continue
Friston is running super dry at moment. Rode there on sunday, loads out enjoying the sun will be going back this weekend for more, plus need to find the new jump on Clint Eastwood trail  Smile
I'm crossing my fingers that the rain will hold off until after my new Canyon Spectral 29'er turns up next week.  Hoping to christen it at Friston  ;D
I have heard meant to stay dry & warm for next 3weeks but who knows.....
Chaps and Chapettes, be careful if you ride at Friston

Friston so far has just been logs across a couple of trails and berms destroyed etc. The fishing wire is at a small council approved area just outside Eastbourne. More has been put up today despite it being on the news sigh, police removed it. Will be tricky to get any evidence from it but maybe police aware signs or something will stop them.

This bit had people campaigning against it initially but it's been open about 2 years. All runs finish with staggered fences, no footpaths etc so I wonder if it's just yobs/pikey scum. You would expect annoyed ramblers to cause destruction first like in Friston
I have ridden a few times at Paradise Woods & this fishing wire stunt is crazy. As Breezer said the trails are well marked & away from ramblers with fencing at the end to slow you down. Think Its prob chavs or pikeys
It has been well advertised which is good all over fb & the news.
The only Bonus with Friston is its further away for the scum bags to get to!
