Bitten
#1
Went out for my first Sketchy ride at Blean on Wednesday night which was great, but my legs now look like I am suffering from the plague!

I'm not generally badly bitten by insects, but I've just had a count & I've scored 48 bites on my legs all nice and inflamed.
So is it just me or is Blean particularly bad for nasty biting critters?

Same up here. Its way worse than it used to be. Keep forgetting to smother myself in Avon Skinsosoft before I ride.

Same for me last time I went round Blean.  Warm + wet + dusk + sweaty bikers = mossie heaven!
Will just cover myself in insect spray next time

Blean can be pretty bad for little critters. Have often been eaten alive there

Thursday afternoon I scored around half as many as you Andy - bloody irritating they are too.

I think it is less to do with venue/conditions however, & more to do with the essential stopping frequently - as per the Sketchy social ride rules... Tongue

Good point. I get none when I ride alone.
