What Single speed Crank ?

Building a single speed mtb but not sure what crank is best to use ?  Help !

Generally speaking any cranks are good for single speed however its the ring itself that can make all the difference.  A standard ring for a geared bike has a thinner profile whereas a dedicated single ring will have a wider profile and the teeth will be taller.  

Its also worth looking at getting a singlespeed chain which will be either 1/8" or 3/32".  These chains will be stronger for the amount of load that you will put through them, wont stretch as easily or break in any great hurry.

PS: dont forget you'll need short chainring bolts or your ring will flap like sleeve of wizard  :o
