#1
Does anyone have a current GPX file for Fowlmead I could have so I can use it for mapmyride as I don't have a GPS and it's impossible to draw by hand from memory.

Thanks..

Have you tried Strava on iPhone?  You can time yourself around your laps next time, automatically.

Works on Android as well plus I believe there is a way to download gpx files from Stravas website so you could then load them into a suitable mapping program if you had a blackberry or something else

There is a "mtb lap" one on strava, no idea if its the signed one or not, I have only raced there which use custom circuits http://app.strava.com/segments/1257696

Thanks for that. It looks right, has all the red bits in. I couldn't find any way to download export it as GPX from within Strava but as it's a google map thing guessed there'd be some way to access it...

I think you can only download it if you uploaded it originally ie for security reasons, starting a ride from your house etc.

The bit west most on there they havent used in the last few races I have done, shame as its quite good with a couple of awkward climbs/hairpins

Winter race season there on weekends plus I think before that some weekday evening ones in the dark

Yeah I quite like that section and the approach to it too, can get up a good speed. I did a race a few years ago when it was billed as a fun-race and free to enter. I'm considering doing the two night races and/or the winter-warmers...  Depends how much of a thrashing I get as to whether I think it's worth it.

You have to pay now and you get a lot of decent team riders there due to its training venue nature but as long as you ignore them and are happy looking out of place in baggy shorts etc then its fun. Its always so crippling to ride despite being flat as its like a constant pump track. They normally have a free (to racers) bbq after the last one in the series, do for the summer at least so hopefully for winter as well, hmm burgers
