I did a ride with just a rear brake once when at uni down Bristol. Rode the 4 miles or so to Leigh Woods (before there were proper trails) then prompty did a spoke in the front wheel a few mins in. V brakes so had to disconnect the front to stop it rubbing. Had to bin it once as couldnt slow down enough but rest ok. Also rode in Ashton court again before proper trails.

Ever tried riding with just a front brake? Its the most disturbing unbalancing thing ever!

I do have a front brake to fit to the bike, rear is a tektro v and is adequate for the bike's use, but I have an old magura (I think) that will balance things up a bit. It's GFs bike, she also has a hurty knee so not allowed to ride at the mo, but mine is better enough for a ride... Woohoo!

Surrey Hills on Sunday. Rear was practically useless for some reason, lever came to bars and the front is currently the world's sharpest front brake, almost went over the bars sitting in the saddle drying the brakes out after washing it! Scared the crap out of me at Surrey as was worried about losing the front all the time, especially going down that mega steep roll in where you have to skirt around a tree half way down with a big soggy compression at the bottom, where I came off the brakes to stop a wash out and was going so fast through the compression almost made it to Australia lol
