Always carry a spare mech hanger.
#1
After the number of years of carrying a spare mech hanger and never having to use it. It all paid off today!

1. Take a large branch

2. Stick it into the rear gear assembly

3. Look down and say F*** YOU LITTLE F****** S***

Chain was a mess, it now has 5 power links in it!!! but then it had 4 before the incident it needs replacing anyway.

Hanger was mucho bent, spare one fitted back on nicely and the mech seems to have survived well.

No walking back to the car for me!

Ive done two before. One at Rotherfield so only a short walk. The other was in Friston about 12 miles from the car so glad I had a spare then!

Haven't we been through this before? It's the same as all the other Carrera's, so just go into Halfraud's and ask for a new one. Failing that i'v got one on my old frame i'll probably never use again.

Surely even with Andys one you still need to get another one as a spare or do you really not learn from your mistakes?
