27.2mm Dropper Post?
#1
I've decided to treat myself to a dropper post for my Cove Stiffee, it takes a silly 30 mm seat post so my choice is some what limited to a 27.2 mm post with shim. I've narrowed it down to either the X Fusion Hilo or the KS i7 with remote kit. Both seem to get pretty good write ups but the KS is a litte more pricey and in my opinion looks a bit better  ;D... Feedback from anyone who has used either of these would be much appreciated. Cheers

There has been alot of feedback regartding the KS in 27.2....  I have them in 31.6 and thery are excellent but KS actually stopped selling the 27.2 as there was an inherent engineering problem... best check that out with a bit of googling.

No experience of the Hilo...

Have a Forca on my lads bike, basic and needs the rubber boot but at £70 delivered it is good value.

As you know Matt I have the Fusion on the Crush and although I cant compare to the KS as I havent used one I can say I have had no problems with it apart from snapping the remote cable outer case after clipping a low branch on my first use and this still hasn't affected cable run. So for me very reliable no complaints

Lindros,
I'm quite tempted by the post, does it come with any shims and the rubber gaiter?
Could you get it to me in Canterbury?

Cheers for the feedback guys. Think I will give the KS a miss then if the design is a bit dodgy in the small size! Couldn't find much on it but did see it mentioned in a few places so cheers for the heads up MBNut. Lindros does the GD you have adjust infinately or does it have set heights. The ones I have found on the net seem to come with 1 and 4 inch drop?

this is the 4 inch drop, either standard height or 4 inch lower.  It's cable operated and positive in it's movements, one of the good things about it is the cable mount to the seatpost is static unlike most others that go up and down with the seat, so you can fix the cable in place out the way of everything and it never moves again...here's a couple of pics

Does it not have the one inch drop option aswell? Or is this a different model I am thinking of? Cheers  Smile
