RIP Jeff Hanneman
Jeff Hanneman, one of the founding members of Slayer, sadly passed away yesterday of liver failure aged only 49.

I was a huge Slayer fan in my youth and have great memories of gigs, clubs and parties when things would always go a little bit crazy.

RIP Jeff

Ride the Spiral to the end
It takes us to where no ones been
I was sad to see this too.
I remember watching Slayer in 1990 on the clash of the titans tour at Wembley Arena. Best Gig ever i think and Reign in Blood must rate as the best thrash metal album ever.

Rock and Roll takes it toll. RIP Jeff, time to dig out old Slayer CD,s i think
Monsters of Rock @ Donnington in the 96 IIRC was fantastic, crazy mosh pit & Tom Araya influencing the weather  8)

I got told off for blasting South of Heaven at 200 mph this morning lol

I was playing Dead Skin Mask on my acoustic last night and introduced GF to most of Seasons in the Abyss this eve. She hates me. I loved Slayer BITD, I'll listen to South of Heaven tomorrow and try to ignore Hannemann's questionable obsession with WWII, for me Slayer was metal.
Keep it foolish...
