It was great fun. The 4wd touring car ones hit north of 40 down the straight, have to watch out if marshalling at the end....

Getting a bit OTT now, corner weighting session at my friends last night after a diff rebuild and my car in its current form. Now racing indoors in Tonbridge for the winter

So what makes a winning car? light weight? power? driver? how do you compare against the others?

Bit of everything. No min weight limit where I race but you can't hack the standard bits apart so not much you can do weight saving wise. Most of it is setup with these particular ones as they are really fussy and you can change everything suspension wise just like a real car. At the indoor place I struggle as I run a mildly upgraded old style brushed motor which is in a separate class outdoors but indoors it puts me in with the quicker brushless ones which make up a couple of metres on the main straight alone. I got within a second of them last time out though in qualifying (3 heats) but then had a messy final. They change the track every week indoors so its a struggle trying to adjust the setup being quite new to it all

Out qualified 4 of the quicker ones last time so made the top final but then kept being stupid, had a couple of grip induced rolls etc, I am the white one, skip to 4:50 and watch for a bit when I finally catch another car up, overtake then have a ridiculous crash 2 corners later lol (the winner is a different car just mixed in with us)

i'm sure it's a laugh, the vid is a bit like watching mating fleas, I had no idea who was in first place for most of the race though

Yes bit hard to see, it's only a go pro filming it. There is a live scoreboard and someone commentates in the finals. The 1/12th pan cars and the 4wd touring cars are a lot quicker, this is the TC final, most of them are sponsored, bloke 2nd on the grid was the 2010 world champion although he gets messed up in a crash halfway round the first lap but eventually gets back to 2nd

are you tempted to fit a  brushless motor? or will you kill the original one first before upgrading?
