Not sure your paths will ever cross, but keep an eye out for the short curly haired training officer...... I'm told she's a real live wire although she comes over sweet as a Cupcake ;D

I am!! I love it there, & yes, our paths have crossed! So far, I just feel bad for not cycling as much as Cupcake Sad Trip to the physio tonight & booked for Monday too.

100m sign on is 07:30 - 08:00
78m sign on is 08:00 - 09:00

Do you think we could all leave Canterbury a little after 08:00?
I'm thinking if the 100 milers register & then the 78 milers register at 08:00, we should get off together.
I doubt we'll stay together for the duration, but it'd be good to get a group start.

So Canterbury starters are:
100m
Bikewheelguy
Pittgoat
Longjohn
Avril19
Lotusandy
Lotusandy Jnr
Cupcake
Mork
Tinc

78m
Laggingbehind
Brother Lagging

Apologies if I've missed anyone Wink

I said to Jon the exact same thing. I'll be popping in the Hospice with treats as it's my birthday the 6th, but was hoping to leave 8.15ish.

I'm sooo up for this it's untrue! Session on the turbo tonight then hoping to get out for a smallish woods ride Friday night, then rest Saturday, carb load, service bike etc and bring it on! I'll whisper it quietly but the forecast looks great for Sunday! (Disclaimer: if it's belting down with rain (like it is at the mo) it's in no way connected with my previous sentence, of which I will deny all knowledge).

My plan was to register 0730 and get on the road as soon as they start letting people out, my mate wants to do the same. Plans may change between now and Sunday but nice though the idea is, I'll probably pass on the big group set off. Big groups of cyclists only serve to p1ss off the 'people in the metal boxes' in my experience, although safety in numbers is a decent notion.

You'll probably pass me at some point though - I'm anticipating numerous 'p-words'. Saddle bag already packed with spare tubes and CO2 cylinders!

Looking forward to the legendary cake stops!

I understand your thought BikeWheelGuy, but our little group will be somewhat lost in the rest of the 1000 starters I think; although they're not all from Canterbury admittedly.
Also, even Canterbury will be relatively quiet at 08:00 on a Sunday morning.

Hope you see you out there & good luck!

(please cease making predictions with P words & W words; it makes me nervous :o)

Spoke to the nice lady & she said that we can register slighly early (7:45 ish) but dont tell anybody.... She was saying there are masses starting from Canterbury & it looks like there will be a staggered start for the 100 milers so should be too much of an issue anyway... Not sure my legs are looking forward it it. Still the longest ride on this bike has been 19miles  Big Grin Big Grin

Ok, granted at 8am on a bank holiday Sunday the angry car driver count should be at a minimum. Given the intel regarding early registration for the 75ers (sssshhhhh....) and the staggered starts for the 100ers it's actually pretty feasible that we all head out en masse. Sounds like a great crack, I'm picturing hordes of sketchyites descending on tables creaking under the weight of cakey treats like locusts in some biblical plague.
