Airships in Kingswood
I mentioned on here a few months ago, that during WW1,airships had been based in Kingswood,Challock and that a large hole had been dug, into which they would be tethered. The hole isn't in Kingswood as such, but on the edge,at Godmersham Estate.Photo's show the two types of Airship based here at various times during WW1.The main airship base was at Kingsnorth, where the power station is,Hoo Peninsula.
