6hr mtb race: HT or FS
#21
I always found the shock on my Canyon a bit wallowy, even when run at a fairly high psi, so I had a volume reducer fitted which has improved it a lot, so might be worth considering..

Personally I'd ride a FS. Line choice goes to pieces after you have been racing for 4+ hours.

I'm disappointed not to be racing BBD this year. I guess watching you lot flog yourselves around whilst I drink beer and yell encouragement/abuse will have to do for me  :'(  Smile

You are back riding at mad speed on the road so why have you pulled out?

I can't lift my left arm up beyond 45 degrees out in front of me and barely 30 out to the side, perfectly usable for gentle road riding but no good for off road. Good 2 months of physio until the MTB is back on the cards.

Thanks for all the tips everyone. Rode it to work today, put a bit more air in the shock.. up to 150psi, but seem to loose 10 removing the shock pump. Reduced tyre pressures to 30psi (the minimum level according to tyre walls). Felt better but decided it still wasn't enough so pumped it up to 160psi before leaving (expecting to loose 10psi again when removing shock pump). I did have extra weight in my backpack - a hefty DBUS lock, work clothes, lunch etc. This time it really felt much better but I still want to play around a bit more with it but unfortunately....
